Serving Multnomah and surrounding counties, Authentic Community Caregiver is a non-medical in-home care agency caring for area seniors and those with mobility and memory care issues.

Authentic Community Caregiver was founded by Valini Sanft, an experienced business owner and caregiver whose inspiration came from more than 15 years of caring for her late husband through multiple complex health challenges. In addition to supporting close family members, Valini also worked as a private caregiver and later with several home care agencies, gaining firsthand insight into what families truly need from quality care.

Perhaps Valini’s most profound and heartbreaking experience was the loss of her youngest child - her 20-year-old son, who passed away in November 2025. From the depth of that grief came the inspiration for her life’s mission: to walk alongside others facing unimaginable challenges and to bring comfort, understanding, and care to families when they need it most.

During her time in the agency world, Valini saw caregivers stretched thin - rushing between clients, rotating constantly, and leaving seniors without the chance to build real trust. She witnessed the frustration families felt when a lack of attention and communication made their loved ones feel like just another appointment. But she also saw what caregiving looks like when it’s done right: when a caregiver truly knows their client, anticipates their needs, and becomes a trusted companion - not just someone checking off tasks.

Valini’s vision is to care for you or your loved one with the same compassion, dignity, and attention she would give her own family. That is why she is building her business around truly personalized, one-on-one care. Having experienced both sides of caregiving, she understands what truly works, what really matters, and what families genuinely need. For Valini, this is not a theory - it’s personal.
