Authentic Community Caregiver helps seniors with mobility and memory care needs live safely and comfortably at home, with trained, background-checked caregivers available 24/7.
Authentic Community Caregiver is a non-medical in-home care agency serving area seniors and those with mobility and memory care needs throughout Multnomah and surrounding counties.
Founded by experienced business owner and caregiver Valini Sanft, the inspiration for Authentic Community Caregiver came from her direct experience caring for her late husband, who suffered from multiple health issues. In supporting her family, and then friends throughout the community, Valini recognized an underserved need: seniors who desperately wanted to remain at home but needed additional in-home support.
Because the difference between remaining at home and moving to a long-term care facility often comes down to help with daily activities, Valini launched Authentic Community Caregiver to help seniors facing physical and memory care challenges stay home for as long as possible.
Valini built this agency while carrying the most devastating loss of her life — the passing of her 20-year-old son, who had been her rock and her biggest supporter as she set out to start this business. His belief in her, and in the mission behind Authentic Community Caregiver, lives on in the way this agency treats every client and every family: with the same love, devotion, and presence he gave her.
"An agency you can trust — rest easy knowing your loved one is receiving the best possible in-home care."
To provide the highest quality companion care that meets the specific needs of each client while respecting the dignity, privacy, comfort, safety, independence, well-being, and happiness of all whom we serve.
Every care plan is personalized. Here's how our caregivers support clients and families day to day.
Because personal appearance matters to many seniors, we assist with dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
We shop for nutritious food and prepare meals according to each client's dietary needs and restrictions.
We help keep clients as mobile as possible — assisting with walking, exercising, and transferring.
Caregivers accompany clients to medical appointments, errands, outings, and family events.
Light housekeeping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal to keep the home clean and safe.
Knowing someone is ever-present is one of the most meaningful forms of security for a loved one.
Cases are scheduled a month in advance to help ensure the same caregiver stays with the same client, building a relationship of trust.
Professional leadership provides scheduled assessments to develop personal care plans based on each client's specific needs.
Support staff is available around the clock — weekends and holidays included.
Caregivers are trained through our own Home Health Aide Certification Class, taught by senior leadership before serving any client.
We maintain a drug-free workplace. All caregivers are fingerprinted, background-checked, and bonded.
Understanding that our caregivers are our single greatest asset, we're dedicated to recruiting, training, and developing competent, capable, and professional caregivers — each fingerprinted, background-checked, and screened.
Genuine care and enthusiasm for helping others.
Empathy to relate to each client's situation.
Steady, flexible support when situations shift.
Dependable, regardless of time or weather.
Client needs come first, always.
Attuned to changes in mood, health, and habits.
Personal matters stay separate from care duties.
